My father found the below object while digging in the Arizona desert not too far from Quartzsite 10 to 15 years ago. He was offered $1,500 for it at a rock show in Quartzsite some time later but refused. The offer was immediately increased to $2,500, but my father still refused and took the object off the market entirely, sensing that he should know more about it before selling it. My father has sense passed away. Recent speculation within my family is that the object is a meteorite. I am an engineer and an amateur astronomer, and have in fact taught astronomy in college, but I realize that only an expert can make an accurate determination when it concerns a meteorite. The object weighs about 50 pounds. Anyone who has the knowledge to voice an educated opinion is welcome to email me. Click here
